Attacking players
Attacking costs 25 Energy. Who you can attack, what leave, rob and hospitalize do, how Fair Fight scales XP, group attacks with assists, and staying anonymous.

Attacking another player costs 25 Energy. You play out the turns of the fight yourself; the defender is controlled by the game using their loadout and defend order, so players can be attacked while offline.
Who you can attack
- Not anyone in the hospital, in jail, on a flight, or who landed less than 15 seconds ago.
- Only someone in the same place as you: both in Ashport, or both in the same city abroad.
- Not members of your own faction.
- Not newcomers under city protection: level under 10 in their first 7 days. A ranked war between your factions lifts this.
- Not someone who has blocked you, unless your factions are at war.
- Not someone already at 0 health, or already fighting 4 attackers.
After you win
When the defender goes down you pick what happens. The choice trades experience for cash or hospital time:
| Choice | XP | What happens to them |
|---|---|---|
| Leave | 100% | Hospital for 10 min to 20 min |
| Rob | 50% | You take 4% to 8% of the cash they carry; hospital for 15 min to 30 min |
| Hospitalize | 60% | Hospital for 1h to 2h; claims any bounties on them |
If you lose, you go to the hospital for 15 min to 30 min. A stalemate or running out of time ends the fight with no winner. Street thugs only ever spend up to 5 minutes in the hospital.
Robbing
- A robbed player is protected from being robbed again for 12 hours.
- You cannot rob someone if your level is 3x theirs or more (unless they are level 50 or above).
- A floor safe and a house guard at their home cut what robbers take, up to 60% in total.
- Only cash on hand can be taken. Money in the bank is safe.
Experience and Fair Fight
XP = (20 + 4 x defender level) x Fair Fight x choice (leave 1, rob 0.5, hospitalize 0.6)
Fair Fight = 1 + 2 x (defender battle score / your battle score), between 1 and 3
battle score = sqrt(Power) + sqrt(Guard) + sqrt(Agility) + sqrt(Finesse)Fair Fight rewards picking on someone your own size: a target as strong as you or stronger gives the full 3x, while beating up someone far weaker gives 1x. Leaving a level 20 defender at 3x Fair Fight gives 300 XP. Fair Fight also scales chain respect.
Group attacks
Up to 4 players can attack the same person at once, and they all hit one shared health bar. For each other attacker who hit the same target in the last 60 seconds (up to 3), the target's Guard and Agility drop by 8%.
Whoever lands the knockout picks the outcome and gets the full win. Everyone else gets an assist: 50% of the win's XP and respect, scaled by how much of the target's health they took.
Staying anonymous
Each weapon has a stealth rating from 0 to 10. Your loudest equipped weapon (the lowest rating among primary, sidearm and melee) decides: each point is a 6% chance the defender never learns who attacked them, up to 60%. Fists count as 8. If you lose, they always find out.
Attacking abroad
Fights work the same in other cities. Only players in the same city can be attacked, so a busy destination can be dangerous. See travel.

How much does robbing take?
Between 4% and 8% of the cash the target carries. Banked money is safe.
Can new players be attacked?
Not while they are under level 10 and in their first 7 days, unless their faction is in a ranked war with yours.
